The Seth Rollins vs Bray Wyatt match at Hell in a Cell ended via referee stoppage. This finish led to many fans complaining inside of the arena and on social media.
We have a rumor to pass your way about the original finish that was planned for the match.
In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscribe here), Dave Meltzer said that there was another idea that was strongly considered. Here is what Meltzer wrote:
The original idea for the finish was that Wyatt would take a gimmicked bump off the top of the cage and be unable to continue and the match would be stopped. Then, after it was stopped, he would pop up like Undertaker and take Rollins out with the mandible claw.
My Take: This seems like it would have been a much better finish. Either way though, I think that the crowd was going to crap on it if Bray didn’t win the belt.
