Rumor On WWE Changing Things Up For The 2019 WWE Draft

The 2019 WWE Draft will be taking place this Friday night on Smackdown. It will also be continuing on this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW. This will mark the first WWE Draft since 2016, where Seth Rollins was selected first overall.

We have a rumor to pass your way about the Draft this year.

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio (subscribe here), WWE is changing things up this year. Here is what Meltzer said about the change of presentation for the Draft (quote below via Ringside News):

“So they’re gonna have reps from — it’s gonna be people who will be picking like a football draft. It’s not gonna be done like it’s done before. It’s gonna be a rep or reps from USA and a rep or reps from Fox that will be doing the picking as opposed to authority figures from WWE.”

“They don’t want authority figures right now so that’s how it’s gonna be.”

My Take: As a sports fan, this should be pretty great. I also don’t hate the idea of no authority figures for the time being. This all sounds good to me.
