It was announced this week that Cedric Alexander will be facing off against AJ Styles at Clash of Champions. This will be for the United States Championship.
We have a rumor to pass your way about the future of Cedric in WWE.
In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscribe here) Dave Meltzer hinted at good things coming for Alexander in the future.
Meltzer says that Alexander is one of the wrestlers who “Paul Heyman wants to give a slow push to the top” on Monday Night RAW.
Alexander has apparently really impressed Heyman over the past few months. This is important due to Heyman’s role as Executive Director of the red brand. It appears as if Alexander could be a guy who will get a nice push over the next little while.
My Take: Cedric is definitely a really talented guy and I am excited to see what happens. His feud with AJ Styles will be a good test to see if he can hang with one of the top guys in the company in a big feud.
