It was first reported by John Pollock of POST Wrestling that WWE will be doing a draft on the October 11th edition of Smackdown and the October 14th edition of Monday Night RAW.
In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscribe here), Dave Meltzer corroborated Pollock’s report about the dates of the WWE Draft.
Meltzer also provided a few more details on how the presentation of it will be.
According to Meltzer, the idea going around is that FOX will present it just like it was a legitimate sports draft. FOX has plenty of experience with drafts from various sports over the years and will try to bring that feel to the WWE Draft.
Meltzer adds that since the WWE Draft will be starting on Smackdown, it is supposed to be a sign that Smackdown is no longer the ‘B’ brand. This is a change from the last draft in 2016, which started on RAW and ended on Smackdown.
