Roman Reigns’ attacker was revealed to be Rowan on this week’s episode of Smackdown Live. As of writing this, Reigns does not yet have a match scheduled for Summerslam.
We have some rumors to pass your way about Reigns’ future.
According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Summerslam was originally going to feature a match between Reigns and Daniel Bryan. That has now been scrapped. Here is what Johnson wrote:
Originally, the Summerslam card was to have featured Roman Reigns against Daniel Bryan, but the word making the rounds at TV last night was that the bout will likely be dropped in order to let the current storyline play out.
Additionally, Johnson says that Rowan being the attacker might not be the end result of this storyline. Here is what he said:
Last night’s Smackdown ended with a reveal that Rowan was responsible for the attacks on Roman Reigns, but we are told that may not be 100% set in stone as other ideas have been pitched. Reigns is slated to wrestle Daniel Bryan on a TON of live events coming out of Summerslam.
It sounds like WWE will be slow-playing this storyline for the next little while. This is good news for fans who don’t want them to rush into the Bryan vs Reigns feud.
