Ricochet did not end up appearing on the RAW Reunion special. According to a report, there were actually some big plans for Ricochet that had to be scrapped for the episode.
According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio (subscribe here), Ricochet was originally planned to be in the spot of Seth Rollins for the Reunion.
Here is what Meltzer said about the scrapped segment (h/t to Ringside News for the quote below):
Ricochet has an elbow infection so the whole spot that Seth did with AJ Styles, that was all Ricochet. The whole idea of the DX thing, and again, I do not know this was a Paul Heyman idea, but I know that Ricochet is one of his projects and I know the idea of the show was for the show, one of the big ideas was that Ricochet gets a big rub in the end from DX. Where they endorse him and they say he’s the next big thing. That is what that segment was supposed to be.”
This report seems to have some serious legs as here is what WWE wrote about Shawn Michaels on their official preview for Smackdown:
Just one night after DX and The Kliq joined forces to help Ricochet run off The OC on Raw Reunion, two-time WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels will be joining the commentary team on SmackDown LIVE.
This would also align with Meltzer’s report that there was numerous issues backstage which forced rewrites of the show.
