The Undertaker teamed with Roman Reigns at the Extreme Rules PPV. During the event, the Undertaker and Reigns defeated Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre in what was a fun match.
Many fans speculated that since the Deadman wrestled at Extreme Rules, he would also be wrestling at Summerslam this year.
We have an update for you on the rumors of Undertaker working Summerslam.
According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio (subscribe here), the Undertaker is not on WWE’s internal lineup for the show. Here is what he said (h/t to Ringside News for the quote below):
“To me it makes no sense why do you have Undertaker on Extreme Rules and not Summerslam? You know you would put him on Extreme Rules to build for Summerslam. Again, things can change — they still have a month — whatever it is, they have a lineup for the show and he’s not on it.”
My Take: This does make sense. If WWE was going to do the Undertaker vs Drew McIntyre at the event, they wouldn’t have had Drew lose to Cedric Alexander on RAW. I would be okay with WWE saving that match until Wrestlemania though.
On a related note, check out a change coming to the Summerslam card.
