As of right now, Roman Reigns does not have a clear path for Summerslam. Since he is not going to be left off this card, I have put together some options for what WWE could do with Roman at the event.
5) Roman Reigns vs Shinsuke Nakamura
An option for Roman Reigns at Summerslam is for him to challenge Shinsuke Nakamura for the Intercontinental Championship.
Nakamura doesn’t have a match yet for Summerslam, so this could work. There was a feud teased between Nakamura and Ali a few weeks ago but nothing came of that on Smackdown this week. Maybe WWE saves that feud for a later date and goes with Reigns here instead?
Reigns vs Nakamura could be a fun match for the card. I wouldn’t mind seeing a lengthy feud between these guys for the next few months.
This would be a nice way to get Reigns on the card at the event. I am sure that it would also be a really fun match.
4) Roman Reigns And The Miz vs Dolph Ziggler, Drew McIntyre, and Elias
I could also see WWE putting Roman Reigns into a handicap match at the event. An option would be Roman and the Miz vs Dolph Ziggler, Drew McIntyre, and Elias.
Roman, Drew and Elias have been feuding with one another for a while now, so the storyline is already established. The Miz and Dolph Ziggler just started their own feud over the past few weeks. There are rumors that we aren’t getting the Miz vs Dolph in a singles match at Summerslam, so I needed to get creative with my booking.
Dolph has become friendly with Shane McMahon, which tells me that an alliance between Dolph, Drew and Elias is possible. Roman and the Miz are also two guys who have been feuding with Shane and his goons for a while now. Based on that them teaming up could make some sense.
This would basically just be a match to get these five guys on the card. Could make sense to combine these feuds into one match.
