Kevin Owens Is Reportedly Not Going To Saudi Arabia For ‘WWE Super Showdown’

We have some interesting news to pass your way. This has to do with Kevin Owens’ status for the upcoming ‘WWE Super Showdown’ PPV in Saudi Arabia.

According to a report from Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, Kevin Owens has told WWE that he won’t be going back to Saudi Arabia.

Here is an excerpt from Sapp’s report:

Late Tuesday night shortly following Smackdown, Fightful Select was informed and reported that Owens had told WWE officials that he didn’t want to work WWE’s upcoming show in Saudi Arabia, titled Super Showdown. We weren’t told a specific reason as to why Owens came to the decision, but his friend and longtime tag team partner Sami Zayn has been off of those shows because of strained relationships between Syria and Saudi Arabia with WWE stating “WWE is committed to embracing individuals from all backgrounds while respecting local customs and cultural differences around the world.”

My Take: Dolph Ziggler vs Kofi Kingston at Super Showdown makes way more sense now. I was expecting a rematch between Owens and Kingston at the event.
