Here is what we learned about Money in the Bank.
1) Kevin Owens Called The Backstage Interviewer By The Wrong Name
Kevin Owens was interviewed backstage by Sara Schreiber during the Money in the Bank kickoff show. During the interview, Owens kept referring to Sarah as ‘Renee’.
This was a troll job from Owens as he has been calling backstage interviewers ‘Renee’ for the past few years. This is an obvious reference to Renee Young. Definitely a funny moment on the kickoff show.
2) A Match Was Teased For Smackdown
During the kickoff show, an argument broke out between Zelina Vega and Sonya Deville. Both took some shots at one another in a verbal confrontation.
This seemed to me like a potential tease for a match between Sonya and Zelina on Smackdown this upcoming week. I can’t think of any other reason for it.
3) The Usos Pinned The Smackdown Tag Team Champions
The first match of the night took place on the kickoff show: The Usos vs Daniel Bryan and Rowan. This was a non-title match.
The Usos ended up picking up the win. Pretty interesting that the Usos won here since they are on different brands. I have to wonder if this will lead to something more between these teams?
