There have been rumors for the past several months that Brock Lesnar would be returning to the UFC for another fight. Specifically, a fight against UFC star Daniel Cormier.
We have a big update to pass your way on Brock’s future.
According to a report from Brett Okamoto of ESPN, Brock informed the UFC that he is retiring from Mixed Martial Arts. Here is an excerpt from the report:
“UFC president Dana White told ESPN on Tuesday that Lesnar (5-3) informed him he does not intend to fight again. The UFC had discussed booking a heavyweight title fight between Lesnar and defending champion Daniel Cormier this summer, but Lesnar ultimately informed White last week he is retired.
“He told me he’s done, he’s retired,” White told ESPN. “We’re going to move in another direction with Cormier.”
This is definitely interesting from a wrestling perspective. One would have to assume that this frees up Brock to do more stuff with WWE moving forward. We will have to wait and see.
