10 Biggest WWE Rumors Of The Week (Feb 23, 2019)

Here are some of the biggest WWE rumors of the week.

10) The Original Plans For Ricochet On RAW

Ricochet made his main roster debut on both RAW and Smackdown Live this week. RAW saw him team with Finn Balor, where they defeated Bobby Lashley and Lio Rush.

According to a rumor floating around, the original plans for the episode were to have Ricochet vs Finn Balor in a singles match.

It is believed that Triple H had this match changed at the last minute. There was concern about how the crowd would react to two babyface characters. Triple H reportedly also didn’t want either losing as Balor had just won the Intercontinental Title and Ricochet was making his main roster debut.

9) The Original Plans For Alexa Bliss On RAW

Alexa Bliss didn’t appear on RAW this week at all. According to a rumor, she was originally scheduled for a match on the episode.

Alexa was supposed to face Ronda Rousey for the RAW Women’s Championship on the episode. This was going to be a quick squash, similar to Ronda’s match against Ruby Riott at the Elimination Chamber.

After Seth Rollins was not fully cleared, WWE needed a longer match from Rousey. They decided that a longer Ronda vs Ruby match would have been stronger than a longer Ronda vs Alexa match. That is why the change was made. Ronda ended up defeating Ruby and Alexa didn’t appear at all.

8) The Short-Term Plans For The New NXT Call-Ups

The big news this week was WWE calling up 4 NXT stars: Ricochet, Johnny Gargano, Tommaso Ciampa, and Aleister Black. So what are the plans for them moving forward?

A new rumor suggests that the NXT call-ups will continue to appear on Raw, Smackdown, and NXT until after WrestleMania.

They likely won’t be assigned to a permanent brand until the Superstar Shake-Up.
