There have been plenty of rumors over the past few weeks about Ronda Rousey. A recent report suggested that she is likely taking some time off after Wrestlemania 35.
So what is WWE going to do if Rousey leaves?
According to a rumor, WWE has plans to push three female stars.
On the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio (subscribe here), Dave Meltzer said that the top three Women WWE wants to build around (if Rousey leaves) are Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, and Lacey Evans.
There have been rumors of Lacey Evans being on the receiving end of a big push in WWE for a few weeks now. Meltzer says that WWE is really high on her due to her life struggles, military background, and her status as a single mother. There is a feeling that because of her background, there is a chance that she could really connect with the mainstream audience.
If Lacey doesn’t end up performing in the spot that she is given, it is possible that they don’t push her to the moon. As of right now, the thinking is that she could be a big star.
My Take: Lacey does have a really interesting personal background and I do see her having success. The only issue that I have is why are they developing her as a heel? Her background in the military and life struggles seem to scream babyface to me. If that is their reasoning for her push, they are going to have to turn her at some point.
