A hot topic of conversation right now is when the contracts of WWE Superstars will be expiring. With the recent formation of AEW, it appears as if wrestlers have more options than ever.
We have an update for you on the contract of AJ Styles.
According to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscribe here), Styles’ contract expires in April.
There will be obvious speculation about Styles potentially making the jump to AEW. This is because of his friendship with the Young Bucks. Meltzer says that even though he has a relationship with the AEW crew, Styles is expected to stay with WWE.
The timing couldn’t be any better for Styles’ contract to expire though. He is likely going to get paid a lot of money to avoid him making the jump. There were reports that Styles also wanted to work fewer dates, so that could also play a factor in his new deal.
We will let you know if more details come out on Styles’ future in the next few months.
