You have likely heard the news by now that Dean Ambrose is leaving WWE in April. This was confirmed by WWE in a statement that the released publicly. We wanted to share some reasons why this might (key word is might) be a work. Note: I am not sure myself if it is a work or not but here are some reasons why it is a bit suspicious.
5) WWE Announcing Dean Leaving 3 Months In Advance Is A Bit Suspicious
Let’s start with the statement that WWE put out. WWE issued the following about Dean’s future:
“Dean Ambrose (Jonathan Good) will not be renewing his contract with WWE when it expires in April.
We are grateful and appreciative of all that Dean has given to WWE and our fans. We wish him well and hope that one day Dean will return to WWE”
This felt really weird to me (and I am sure to many others). WWE rarely comments on Superstars contract information publicly like this. It is also rare for them to confirm rumors about Superstars leaving their company.
In theory, there are still a few months left for WWE to try and negotiate with Dean. Just seems fishy for them to announce that he is leaving so quickly.
I am certainly not the only one who thought that WWE’s statement was a bit odd. Not saying it can’t be truthful but it just felt strange.
4) The Timing Of It All
According to the initial report, Dean told WWE that he was leaving at the Royal Rumble. My question is, if Dean is leaving, why would they give him a big spot in the opening segment of RAW this past week?
The RAW after the Royal Rumble is typically when the road to Wrestlemania truly begins. Putting Dean in the first segment of the first RAW is some interesting timing if he isn’t penciled into their plans for Wrestlemania. By RAW, they would have known that he was leaving but they still chose to put him in the opening segment? Maybe its just me but that seems a bit odd.
Not to mention that there has been plenty of rumors over the past few weeks about talent wanting out of WWE. If you were going to do some sort of storyline about Dean leaving, this would be the time to do it because everything is so up in the air.
