Rumor On The Future Of The RAW Tag Team Division

The poor treatment of the RAW tag team division has been a hot topic of conversation among wrestling fans for the past several months. The division has been pushed to the sidelines for a long time now.

Could that be changing over the next few months?

We have a rumor to pass your way. This rumor comes via Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio (subscribe here).

The rumor is that WWE has been telling tag teams that they are going to be doing a better job at promoting the division moving forward. Here is a quote (via Ringside News).

“That’s the idea is that they’re going to start promoting the tag team division. That’s what they’re telling all the tag teams. Yeah, they’re doing it, they’re going to start building up the division. That’s why we got Dozovic and those guys. We got Hawkins and Ryder back together. Everyone was waiting for Hawkins and Ryder’s return.”

My Take: I buy it. The Revival got a solid amount of television time this week as compared to usual. This includes a backstage segment with Vince McMahon, a match, and a post-match angle with Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins. We also saw Heavy Machinery have their first match on the main roster. I would say that this is a pretty good start. This is something to examine over the next few weeks but I think that we could see the RAW tag team division get a push.
