Ronda Rousey defeated Nia Jax at TLC to retain her RAW Women’s Championship. Later in the show, Ronda interfered in the TLC match for the Smackdown Women’s Championship. Ronda knocked both Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair off the ladder, leading to Asuka winning the Title.
After TLC, there have been some fans suggesting that this may have been done to turn Ronda heel.
We have an update on Ronda’s character direction moving forward.
Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet says that Ronda’s appearance in the main event of TLC was NOT designed to be a heel turn. Here was his Tweet:
It does make sense that this wasn’t a heel turn. Ronda has been beaten up by both Becky and Charlotte over the past few months. This was Ronda just returning the favor. It will be interesting to follow Ronda’s crowd reaction though over the next little while. Becky’s white-hot right now and we might hear Ronda start to get a ton of boos as we build towards Wrestlemania.
