WWE has continued to sign high-end talent as of late. This includes the news that the company will be bringing in top European independent star WALTER.
A new rumor suggests that WWE is getting even more aggressive with their signing attempts.
According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio (subscribe here), he has been told that WWE has been “flagrantly tampering” with wrestlers who are under contract with other promotions.
Here is a quote (via Ringside News):
“Here’s the thing, WWE is signing people left and right. I’ve heard that they’ve come heavily after guys from — I know promoters and people like that who are like, ‘They are flagrantly tampering with everybody’s guys.’ I don’t know but that’s what people are telling me. But they’re trying to sign everyone because they don’t want this door to open. The last thing they want is competition.”
“People are like, ‘Oh Vince is really excited about the competition,’ it’s like you don’t know Vince at all. You’ve like never followed Vince McMahon if you think that.”
If the rumors are true, it looks like we should expect a ton more WWE signings in 2019.
