The consensus main event of Wrestlemania 35 for the past year has been Charlotte Flair vs Ronda Rousey for the RAW Women’s Championship. With Ronda now facing Charlotte at Survivor Series, things have changed.
We have the latest for you on the potential main event of Wrestlemania 35.
According to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscribe here), the current plan is for Becky Lynch vs Ronda Rousey to headline Wrestlemania 35.
Meltzer says that after the injury to Lynch, Vince McMahon and Ronda decided that the best thing to do was save the match for Wrestlemania. That is why we saw Lynch and Rousey go after one another on social media on Wednesday.
The odds seem to be in favor of the first-ever Women’s main event. Roman Reigns is out of action as he battles leukemia. It also looks like the rumored Triple H vs Batista match is off the table for Wrestlemania 35 due to Triple H’s injury. Meltzer says that there are plans for Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania but they might not involve the Title (which would likely mean that he won’t be in the main event).
If this does happen, Becky getting injured might end up being the best possible thing that could have happened to her (in a weird way).
