Report On Some Big Possible Changes To NXT’s Format

NXT has been a massive success for WWE since its creation several years ago. NXT Takeover events are some of the most highly anticipated events of the year for a lot of fans. According to a new report, there could be some big changes coming to NXT’s format in 2019 and beyond.

Dave Meltzer provided some news on NXT’s expansion in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscribe here).

According to Meltzer, there are some people within WWE who are pushing for NXT’s expansion. That would include NXT episodes moving to two-hours weekly. It would also include making the NXT Takeover events longer. This is due to the amount of talent that they already have under contract.

Meltzer says that WWE is also looking to expand their talent base in NXT. This is based on all of the money that will be coming in from their new television deals in 2019 (and presumably the cash that they are getting for these Saudi Arabia shows).

There are ideas for some International WWE Performance Centers and International territories. That will mean getting more aggressive when it comes to locking down talent who have the potential to be marketable in different areas of the World.
