Kofi Kingston Has Officially Broken A Big WWE Record

Kofi Kingston has had a very impressive career with WWE. He has held many Championships with the company, including multiple reigns with the Intercontinental and United States belts.

Where Kofi has been most successful though is in the Tag Team division. As of today, Kofi has broken a big WWE record in terms of Tag Team Championship success.

Kofi has now held the Tag Team Championships for a combined 954 days. This means that he is now the longest-reigning Tag Team Champion in WWE history.

Here is the math:

– 818 days holding the WWE Tag Team Championships [the belt shares the same history with the RAW Tag Team Championships]. This includes two reigns with the New Day. It also includes reigns with R-Truth and Evan Bourne.

– 47 days holding the World Tag Team Championships. Kofi and CM Punk held the Titles for a brief time back in 2008.

– 89 days (and counting) holding the Smackdown Tag Team Championships. Kofi has had three reigns with the New Day, including the one that is currently going on right now.

This passes Billy Gunn, who previously held the record with 953 combined days as a Tag Team Champion in WWE.

Congratulations to Kofi! A pretty awesome accomplishment.

In other news, here are several WWE records that will never be broken.
