On Monday Night RAW this past week, Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre defeated the B Team to become the new RAW Tag Team Champions. As a result, all of the top (male) titles on RAW are currently involved in the Shield vs Braun Strowman, Ziggler and McIntyre feud.
I have a theory on what this could be leading to. A reminder that this is just a fun theory from us to generate discussion and not something that has been reported by anyone.
So Where Could This Storyline Be Going?
I think that we could end up seeing a ‘winner takes all’ match at some point over the next few months. That would mean Braun Strowman, Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler vs Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose, and Seth Rollins. The winning team walks out with the WWE Universal, WWE Intercontinental and the RAW Tag Team belts. This match could happen at either WWE Super Show-Down or maybe even Survivor Series.
That might sound a bit crazy at first glance, but why else would WWE put all of the (male) RAW belts in one feud? Why put the RAW Tag Team belts on Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler right now when it wasn’t really needed? I think that WWE has a big plan in-store for this feud and that plan is a ‘winner takes all’ match. WWE has done ‘winner takes all’ matches in the past but it has been a long time. It could be an interesting storyline to build towards over the next few months.
WWE could also do this on a smaller level at Hell in a Cell if they wanted. They could do a ‘winner takes all’ tag team match, Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler vs Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose. This would mean McIntyre and Ziggler would put their RAW Tag Team Championships on the line. Rollins would put his Intercontinental Championship on the line. The winning team leaves as both the Intercontinental and RAW Tag Team Champions. Reigns and Strowman are already facing off at Hell in a Cell, so this could be an interesting direction for the other guys in this feud.
Let me know what you think in the comment section. Could you see WWE going with a ‘winner takes all’ type of scenario for this feud?
On a related note, here is our speculation on the long-term plans for the Bobby Roode-Chad Gable tag team.
