Kurt Angle was recently forced by Stephanie McMahon to take a vacation from his role as General Manager of Monday Night RAW. As a result, Baron Corbin is now the acting General Manager of the show.
We have the latest news to pass your way about Kurt’s future.
According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, the reason why Angle was forced to take a vacation from his role as General Manager is strictly for storyline purposes. Angle is not being written out of storylines long-term and there is no heat on him. Angle was backstage at Raw in Toronto this past week.
Johnson has confirmed that Angle has been training really hard for his return to the ring. It is unclear at the moment who Angle will be facing.
According to @Wrestlevotes a few days ago, Angle isn’t expected to be considered a full-time wrestler. This is contrary to what some rumors are currently suggesting:
I do see the “reports” that Kurt Angle was removed from the GM role because WWE has cleared him as a full time wrestler. Source says that’s not true. Angle isn’t going to be considered “full time”. I’d be shocked to see him working 4 nights a week including house shows. Unlikely.
