Toronto To Host Summerslam Weekend In 2019!

With Wrestlemania 35 heading to the New York/ New Jersey area next year, there were rumors that WWE would be moving Summerslam weekend away from Brooklyn. It has now been made official. Summerslam 2019 weekend is coming to Toronto!

ET Canada posted the following:

“The WWE is bringing one of its signature annual events back to Toronto next year.

On Monday, the professional wrestling organization announced exclusively with ET Canada that Toronto will play host to the 2019 SummerSlam Week.

The event, which will be held over four consecutive nights at Scotiabank Arena next August, will include “SummerSlam”, “Monday Night Raw”, “SmackDown Live” and “NXT TakeOver”.

“We are thrilled to bring WWE’s biggest event of the summer back to Toronto,” said John Saboor, WWE executive vice-president, special events, in a statement. “We look forward to working with our partners at Tourism Toronto and Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment to build a blueprint that welcomes our global fan base to the great city of Toronto.”

WWE will also host a number of activities in the city, including the interactive SummerSlam Axxess fan festival at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.

The SummerSlam series dates:

  • Saturday, August 10 – “NXT TakeOver
  • Sunday, August 11 – “SummerSlam”
  • Monday, August 12 – “Monday Night Raw”
  • Tuesday, August 13 – “SmackDown Live”

SummerSlam has been held annually since 1988, with Toronto previously playing host in 2004. Brooklyn, New York, has hosted the event for the past four years”
