Erick Rowan and Luke Harper retained their Smackdown Tag Team Championships at Summerslam against the New Day. This came after the Bludgeon Brothers intentionally got themselves disqualified by using their mallets.
It turns out that Erick Rowan was reportedly injured during the match.
According to Mike Johnson of PWinsider, Rowan suffered an arm injury during the match.
Johnson reports that Rowan was not at WWE’s live event in Atlantic City on Monday Night as he was getting the injury evaluated. The word going around is that it could be a bicep injury but that isn’t 100% confirmed.
It is unclear at the moment what that means for the Smackdown Tag Team Championships. WWE announced the Bludgeon Brothers vs the New Day in a no disqualification match for Smackdown this week. This could be how WWE takes the Titles off of them.
