Speculation On The Long-Term Plans For The Daniel Bryan And The Miz Feud

The Miz defeated Daniel Bryan in their match at Summerslam. This came after the Miz used some brass knuckles given to him by Maryse from in the crowd. The Miz clocked Bryan when the referee wasn’t looking and was able to pick up the win.

So what is the future of this storyline? Let’s speculate a little bit here on what we think could happen.

Backstage during Summerslam, Bryan was speaking to Brie Bella about what happened. This seemed like a pretty obvious tease to me that we could be seeing a mixed tag team match in the future: Daniel Bryan and Brie Bella vs the Miz and Maryse. This would be the perfect match for Hell in a Cell if Maryse is ready to return. This allows WWE to not have to rush another singles match between Bryan and the Miz. It also gives Maryse and Brie a tune-up match before the Evolution event (where I am guessing they will both participate).

I could see this feud being drawn out until Wrestlemania 35. The Miz refuses to face Bryan again (in a singles match) for the next few months. They will stay involved with one another but won’t face off in a singles match for months. We later could see the Miz or Bryan win the WWE Championship. The one who doesn’t could win the Royal Rumble match. As a result, you would have the Miz vs Daniel Bryan for the WWE Championship at Wrestlemania 35.  Obviously, there are still several events from now until Wrestlemania 35. Here is how I think that it could go:

  • Hell in a Cell: Mixed Tag Team Match
  • Super Show-Down: Both are added to the United States Championship match (Nakamura vs Miz vs Bryan). Or, WWE pairs them both up with other people for the event.
  • Survivor Series: Both are members of team Smackdown Live in the 5 on 5 elimination match.
  • TLC: The Miz or Bryan challenges for the WWE Championship (and goes on to win it).
  • Royal Rumble: The person who doesn’t win the WWE Championship goes on to win the Royal Rumble match.

This is just a guess on how I think that it could go. What about you? Let me know in the comment section.

On a related note, here is our theory on Becky Lynch’s recent heel turn.
