Paul Heyman was recently a guest on WFAN’s Benigno & Roberts Show. This was in order to promote Summerslam on Sunday night. During the interview, Heyman was asked to choose between CM Punk and Brock Lesnar in regards to who had the better World Championship reign.
Heyman picked Brock Lesnar. Here is what Heyman said (quotes below via Cageside Seats):
“What was the stock when CM Punk was the champion? What’s the stock now?
I have news for everybody. I know this will come as a shock. I know this is the type of news… fans hate to hear. Ready? It’s a business. It’s a business. So the stock, when CM Punk was champion was, what? 19? 20? 21? The stock is now at 80! $80 per share.
Who was the main event of WrestleMania? Who is the main event of SummerSlam? Who’s the most featured performer? Who’s on all the billboards? Who’s on all the posters? Who right now has an advocate speaking for him on WFAN? Brock Lesnar. Stock’s at 80. Obviously, something is being done that is correct.”
Heyman was also asked if he still texts Punk and if he thinks that he will ever return to WWE:
“I don’t text him at all. And… in this business I’ve learned never to presume that someone’s not coming back, but if anybody’s not coming back, he’s the exception that defines the rule.”

Speaking of Heyman, here is a fan theory making the rounds about that note he gave to Roman Reigns.
