Seth Rollins vs Drew McIntyre ended in a disqualification last week on RAW after Dolph Ziggler interfered and attacked Rollins. Later in the show, Seth was attacked backstage by both McIntyre and Ziggler.
So where is this storyline heading? Let’s speculate a little bit.
The way that the storyline is going, it seems pretty clear to me that WWE is setting up for someone to help Seth even the odds. That could be either over the next few weeks on RAW or at Summerslam where Seth will challenge Dolph for the Intercontinental Championship. There are two primary candidates to help Seth out, Dean Ambrose or Jason Jordan.
I think a majority of fans would love for it to be Dean Ambrose. It would certainly generate a massive pop if it was Dean returning at Summerslam to help out his friend and old tag team partner. Dean is a major question mark though as original estimates after his triceps surgery had him out until September.
The same exact storyline could also be told with Jason Jordan. He is a former tag team partner of Rollins and it would make sense storyline wise. Jordan is rumored to be returning soon from neck surgery, so he seems to be the more likely candidate.
Regardless of which one it is, I think they will be returning to help neutralize Drew McIntyre in the storyline. That would likely set up Dolph and Drew vs Seth and Dean/Jason at the Hell in a Cell PPV next month.
What do you think?
Speaking of Hell in a Cell, here are some potential spoilers for the event.
