AJ Styles was recently interviewed by Noelle Foley for Ringside Collectibles while he was at the San Diego Comic-Con. During the interview, Styles was asked about Brock Lesnar not defending his Universal Championship in months.
Specifically, Styles was asked if it bothers him that Brock only defends his Title on rare occasions.
Here is what Styles had to say about Brock (h/t to Wrestling INC for the quote below):
“Well, you know what? I don’t care what anybody says. Brock Lesnar is what we call ‘a draw.’ People come see Brock Lesnar and the fact he’s not wrestled that’s on WWE. That’s on Kurt Angle and anybody else that has anything to do with it.
“I do what I do. I’m a fighting champion like you said. I’m going to defend my championship. I’m going to give my championship the respect that it deserves. So I can’t say much about Brock Lesnar. All I can do is keep doing what I’m doing.”
On a related note, there is a pretty interesting stat about the Title reigns of both Styles and Lesnar. You can read more about that here.
