Things That We Learned From NXT Takeover: Chicago 2018

1) Good To See Pat McAfee Back On The Kickoff Panel

I thought that former NFL player and current Barstool Sports personality Pat McAfee did a great job on the NXT Takeover: New Orleans kickoff show. WWE brought him back for Takeover Chicago and I thought that he did another great job.

His humor might not be for everybody but I find myself enjoying him on these kickoff panels. Hopefully, they keep him around.

2) The Adam Cole-Pat McAfee Banter Continued

On the kickoff show, Adam Cole interrupted the panel. Cole exchanged some words with Pat McAfee in an entertaining exchange. These two have a bit of a history based on McAfee appearance at an NXT live event in Indianapolis a few months ago.

Loved the banter between these two. Also, Adam Cole is also going to be a Superstar in WWE.

3) Change To The Commentary Team

There was a big change on commentary for NXT Takeover: Chicago. Vic Joseph replaced Mauro Ranallo as the lead broadcaster. Mauro had another show for Showtime boxing, which forced him to miss the show.

Mauro will be back soon though so don’t worry! This isn’t a permanent change.

4) Major Crowd Pop For The Undisputed Era

Takeover kicked off with the match for the NXT Tag Team Championships. The Undisputed Era defended their belts against Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch. The Undisputed Era received a MASSIVE pop from the crowd when their music hit.

This group is certainly over.
