On the latest edition of his “X-Pac 1,2,360” podcast, Sean “X-Pac” Waltman commented on the rumors of Big Cass having backstage heat in WWE for going off script during his Smackdown segment.
In case you missed it, a report broke last week that suggested Cass had some heat because he went off script during his segment with the little person who was mocking Daniel Bryan. Cass was reportedly only supposed to give the little person a big boot but ended up adding some extra punches. The report suggests that this was against the wishes of Vince McMahon, who shot down Cass’ idea for the extra punches before the match.
Here is what X-Pac said about the situation (h/t to Wrestling INC):
“We have a saying in the [pro wrestling] industry, and it’s not just in our industry. It’s better to say sorry than ask for permission. But if you’re gonna go with that approach, you can’t go ahead and ask for permission and then get told no. And it seems like that’s the case here, and that’s just absolutely f’ing insane.
Look. A lot of us have gone against the grain and done things that the company doesn’t like, but we never really went and asked for permission, but specifically told no, and then went and did it anyway on live TV. So, I understand if you feel the need, you wanna go out there and get over, but man.”
Speaking of Big Cass, here is the latest on his injury.
X-Pac added that someone “can be in the doghouse so long, [WWE can] forget what you’re in there for.”
