Original Plans For Hornswoggle That Were Reportedly Scrapped At The Greatest Royal Rumble

Hornswoggle made a surprise return in the Greatest Royal Rumble match on Friday in Saudi Arabia. He entered in the match in the 12th position to a nice pop from the crowd.

There were apparently some different plans for Hornswoggle that were changed.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider reports that Hornswoggle was originally planned for a match on the kickoff show instead of the 50-man battle royal.

The report says that he was going to face off against Robbie Araujo. You may recognize that name for his work in WWE in the past as Wee-BL. The match was scrapped by WWE and they made the call to put Hornswoggle in the Rumble match instead. In this case, Araujo was brought all the way to Saudi Arabia for nothing.

This was the first time that WWE fans have seen Hornswoggle since he was released from the company back in 2016.
