One of the big omissions from the Greatest Royal Rumble event in Saudi Arabia was Sami Zayn. Zayn didn’t participate in the Greatest Royal Rumble match, which was a surprise to many fans.
WWE issued a statement to F4WOnline about Zayn not appearing on the show.
Here is the statement:
“WWE is committed to embracing individuals from all backgrounds while respecting local customs and cultural differences around the world.”
A report from Brad Shepard broke early Friday morning that said “the indication backstage is that he wasn’t included because he’s a Syrian Muslim. Saudi Arabia-Syria relations have long been strained”.
