News broke on the Royal Rumble kickoff show that Alicia Fox would not be able to compete in the Women’s Rumble match. This was due to an injury that she suffered. She was also pulled from the Mixed Match Challenge, where she was supposed to team with Goldust.
We have an update on the injury to Alicia.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider reports that the word making the rounds is that Alicia suffered a broken tailbone. She is not expected to be cleared for a few months.
Johnson says that the injury didn’t happen during a WWE live event. It actually happened during a work out in the ring. Fox was reportedly very upset with not being able to participate in the match.
Wrestling INC reports that the injury occurred during the match rehearsal over the weekend. The Women from RAW and Smackdown Live didn’t work WWE live events on Saturday and instead were practicing for the match.
Update: WWE confirmed the news on their website:
“WWE.com can now confirm Fox has suffered a broken tailbone, known as a coccygeal fracture”
