Former WWE star Alberto Del Rio was recently interviewed by Medio Tiempo. During the interview, Del Rio spoke about his previous rants about Triple H and if he would return to WWE.
For those who missed it, Del Rio took several shots at Triple H in videos last year. This came during his relationship with Paige.
Del Rio says that he has apologized to Triple H and WWE for what he said:
“As you know, I am a man who knows when he was wrong. In fact I was in contact with them. Like WWE, when they admitted their mistake the first time I left, I also admit my mistake.
“I personally apologized to Triple H for the issues we had when I was in a bad relationship with my ex-partner. She and her entire family made me believe that they affected our relationship. She made me believe that the videos [Paige and Maddox] and all that was happening outside to her was perpetrated by Triple H and the company. At the time I believed her, because she was my partner. I defended her by heart and sword, then things were different. Later I realized how wrong I was to place my trust in that person. I deeply regret my words and apologized to Triple H, his wife and WWE. They understood me.”

On if he would return to WWE:
“Of course I would go back if the opportunity arises. I would not go back full-time, but I would transition to a special appearance wrestler. Before I put down my wrestling boots for good it will surely happen. Surely before I retire, I will do something special with [WWE]. However I do not see it happening in 2018, but in 2019 before leaving the United States. I’m definitely going to do something special with them. I consider myself to be on good terms with WWE right now on my side, we will one day shake hands and everything will be fine. Time heals all wounds.”
Would you like to see him back?

I’ve always personally appreciated the ADR character. The Mexican Aristocrat role suited him and he did his job well. A great worker. A believeable character. Very good mic skills. His best run was when he was the Mexican Ric Flair type w/ the suits, scarfs, the cars and of course, Ricardo. I always thought he looked like a champion and carried himself as a champion.
As a human being outside the confines of WWE… its none if my business. But I would bring him back, but I would have to have a sit down w/ management, ADR & paige. We would have to iron all that out. And even then, place them on seperate brands.
Long story short, I would be interested in bringing him back… but im not sure he is at the level of him being a special/ part time attraction guy like a lesnar or even jericho. I would probably just sign him to a TV and PPV deal. No house shows, but he works live TV and PPV. So, you’re talking a handful of times a month he wrestles?
That would suffice to me — he is a pseudo-big name. He works for us. But hes not killing himself and he gets time w/ his family.
Win-win. But im not sure its going to happen anytime soon.
