During an earnings call several months ago, Vince McMahon teased that 205 Live would be running separate live events from what WWE current does now with the RAW, Smackdown & NXT crews.
It looks like that is finally coming to fruition. Here are some details on WWE’s plans for 205 Live events.
According to a report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider, WWE will be moving forward with the first-ever 205 Live brand live events starting in January of 2018.
Update: WWE announced 3 shows:
- Friday, Jan. 19, 2018 – Kingston, RI – The Ryan Center
- Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018 – Lowell, MA – Lowell Auditorium
- Sunday, Jan. 21, 2018 – Poughkeepsie, NY – Mid Hudson Civic Center
The current plan is for the first live event to take place during the January 18th-20th weekend. WWE is currently looking into smaller buildings in the Northeast and could possibly use some of the same venues that they use for NXT.
According to Johnson, the touring plan looks to be running 2 or 3 events over a weekend, once a month. Nothing is set in stone and this looks to be an experiment to see how it goes.
