Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins are three of WWE’s biggest stars. The Shield reunion has been one of the biggest storylines on WWE television over the past few months. While it has been fun so far, I think that inevitably the three of them will go on their separate ways.
If that is the case, let’s speculate on the long-term plans for the Shield. Here are some potential scenarios for how they will split up.
Scenario 1 – They amicably split this time. No one turns on anyone and they go their separate ways to chase singles glory. This would allow WWE to easily bring them back together as a group when they are needed. This wouldn’t be as dramatic as one of them turning on the other but would give flexibility to WWE in the future for putting them back together.
Scenario 2 – Dean Ambrose is the one who turns on the Shield this time. This sets up Ambrose for a heel run. It would set up big Pay-Per-View matches against both Seth and Roman. This is the popular theory among fans for if someone does turn on the group.
Scenario 3 – An argument happens between the group and they begin to fight among themselves. No one directly turns heel to cause the split but this would lead to them facing off in another Shield triple threat. After the match, they are sent to different shows and kept apart. This would be a ‘brothers fight’ scenario where they could put them together again down the road if they wanted.
Scenario 4 – Roman turns on the group this time. Doesn’t seem like WWE wants to turn Reigns heel but this would be one heck of a way to do it if they ever decided to pull the trigger. This would set up big Pay-Per-View matches with Seth and Dean. Unlikely but would be fun.
Scenario 5 – Seth Rollins turns again on the group. Would be consistent with his character that he can never really be trusted. Seth would go back to his old heel character. I don’t think WWE will do the same thing again but you never know.
