Kurt Angle returned to the ring at the Tables, Ladders and Chairs Pay-Per-View as an emergency replacement for Roman Reigns. He will also serve as the captain of Team RAW at Survivor Series. Now that Kurt is cleared to compete, rumors are circulating that there could be some big plans for him at Wrestlemania 34. Here are several potential match ideas for Kurt at Wrestlemania 34.

1) Kurt Angle vs Samoa Joe

A potential option for Kurt at Wrestlemania 34 is someone who he has some familiarity with. That person would be Samoa Joe, who Angle has wrestled previously when they were both with TNA.

For Angle’s first singles match back in a WWE ring, it is not a bad idea for him to be paired with someone who he has some familiarity with. Joe and Angle have been in the ring together multiple times, which means that they should be comfortable with one another inside of the ring.

As for the match itself, I think it makes sense. Joe is a heel and WWE could easily have him attack Angle as we get closer to Wrestlemania 34. I also don’t know if WWE has big plans for Joe at Wrestlemania. If the rumors are true about Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar facing off for the Universal Title at the event, that leaves Joe in a bit of limbo. A match with Angle would be pretty big for Joe, if he is out of that title picture.

I originally was thinking of putting in AJ Styles in this spot since him and Angle have also worked together in the past. With AJ being on Smackdown it seems very unlikely that AJ will cross over to face Angle. Joe fits the spot nicely here if WWE goes this route.

2) Kurt Angle vs the Miz

There has been a bit of tension teased on RAW in 2017 between the Miz and Kurt Angle. The Miz has feuded with Angle’s son Jason Jordan and has taken some shots at Angle as a result. Maybe this leads to a Wrestlemania match between them?

There is one big reason why this match makes a lot of sense for both Kurt Angle and WWE.

That reason is that the Miz is generally regarded as a safe worker. He has a history of not getting injured, which is rare for a professional wrestler. Now, I understand where some fans will say that the Miz’s in-ring style is boring but he hasn’t missed too much time over the past decade in WWE. Now why is this important?

Kurt Angle has a long history with injuries and is also 48 years old. It wouldn’t be the worst thing for him to be in the ring with someone that is a safe worker. If WWE is having worries bout Angle’s health, they will likely take the Miz into consideration here. The Miz has also had an incredible year and can build up a feud on the microphone alone. I could see their feud being entertaining if it does end up happening.

Angle vs the Miz wouldn’t be the sexiest choice for Wrestlemania 34, but it might be the smartest one.
