Speculation On Where The Daniel Bryan & Shane McMahon Tension Could Be Going

On Smackdown Live this week, there was tension teased between General Manager: Daniel Bryan and Commissioner: Shane McMahon. This came after Shane invaded Monday Night RAW with the Smackdown roster, without notifying Daniel. Bryan confronted Shane backstage and was clearly unhappy about it.

Let’s speculate on where this storyline is going!

A popular theory among fans is that Daniel Bryan could turn heel in this storyline. The idea would be that Bryan is pissed off at Shane and for a few reasons: 1) Shane has been ignoring his ideas over the past few months. 2) Daniel Bryan being jealous that Shane is able to wrestle in his authority role but he can’t. 3) Shane didn’t consult Bryan about the invasion. If he was to turn heel, he could aid RAW in their retaliation attack on Smackdown Live.

If you really think about it though, are Bryan’s actions heelish? Shane was the one that took a cheap shot at the RAW roster without consulting him. Bryan was upset with not being consulted and said that he didn’t agree with Shane’s cheap-shot tactics. Bryan in this storyline actually looks like the level-headed one. It seems more likely to me that if someone is turning heel, it would be Shane. I also think it would be dumb to try and get fans to boo Daniel Bryan.

Regardless of a heel turn or not, it seems like the storyline between Shane and Daniel will be leading to a break up. Once this storyline is over, we predict that one of them will be fired (or one of them walks away) from their role on Tuesday nights. I know fans are optimistic with Kurt Angle recently getting cleared but I still don’t see this turning into a return to the ring for Bryan.
