It was announced previously by Triple H that Kairi Sane would be getting a shot at the vacant NXT Women’s Championship at Takeover: Houston. This came after Sane won the Mae Young Classic tournament. It was also announced that the match will be a fatal 4-way.
After the October NXT taping, we finally know all 4 competitors that will be competing at NXT Takeover: Houston. (Spoilers will follow).
Ember Moon and Peyton Royce won their spots in their matches at the last taping. Moon defeated Ruby Riot and Sonya Deville to qualify. Royce defeated Nikki Cross and Liv Morgan to qualify. There was some controversy though as Cross was taken out during the match by some interference from Taynara Conti.
At the recent NXT taping there was a Women’s battle royal to determine the fourth spot. Nikki Cross was allowed into the match by William Regal because of the interference from last time. Cross would go on to win the battle royal.
