Brock Lesnar will defend his WWE Universal Championship at No Mercy against Braun Strowman. This is a big match, with some fans even saying that they wished WWE held it until Wrestlemania. One thing is certain, it will be a physical match between two monsters.
Here are some of the latest rumors and speculation that is going around about the match.
There are some rumors floating around suggesting that Braun Strowman will NOT win the title at No Mercy but WWE will protect him in defeat. This would mean either a disqualification finish or a situation where Strowman is pinned but it isn’t clean.
While rumors should be taken with a grain of salt, this also falls in line with the talk of Brock Lesnar vs Roman Reigns still happening at Wrestlemania 34 for the title. For this to happen, Brock would have to hold onto the belt until the event and would have to retain the title against Strowman.
Our take: WWE looks to be extremely high on Braun and it seems likely that they won’t have him lose clean to Brock. I could easily see the company extending this feud to a second Pay-Per-View match against the two. In order to do that, I think there could be a situation where both Lesnar and Strowman destroy one another, which leads to a count out finish. This would lead to a rematch at the TLC Pay-Per-View next month. In my opinion, this feud should have multiple matches and Brock retaining cleanly at No Mercy doesn’t seem like a great idea.
I expect Brock to retain, but Strowman to not lose cleanly and will still come out looking great after the match.
