Chris Jericho was recently a guest on Busted Open in order to promote his new book: ‘No Is a Four-Letter Word: How I Failed Spelling but Succeeded in Life’ (Which you can buy here). Jericho spoke on a wide variety of topics about his life.
One of the topics that came up was about Vince McMahon. Specifically, Jericho shared a funny tidbit about the worst times that you could possibly try to pitch ideas to Vince.
Apparently it is always a bad idea to pitch something to Vince when he is hungry or in the room with someone else:
“With him, you never pitch ideas when he’s hungry. You never pitch ideas when he’s in the room with somebody else.”
Jericho says that he learned this first hand when he pitched a match for Wrestlemania in 2014. According to Jericho, he pitched a match against Bray Wyatt for the event. Jericho would have had Shawn Michaels in his corner and Bray would have the Wyatt Family in his:
“When I went to pitch it to Vince I read the room wrong and made some mistakes. Not only was there somebody else in the room, but he was also hungry and eating. It just led to this whole deck of cards falling, where had I pitched it under the rules of knowing my audience, I could’ve got it through.”

I’m shocked that one of the places wasn’t ‘when he’s on the can’.
