Weekly WWE UK Championship Show

There has been talk for the past several months about the WWE United Kingdom Championship Tournament being turned into a weekly show. This was confirmed on the April 4th episode of 205 Live where Tom Phillips said on air that a weekly show involving the UK guys was ‘coming soon’.

Several months later this still hasn’t happened. So what is the deal? Here are the latest rumors.

According to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscribe here), there are still plans for a weekly UK show and it could happen before the end of 2017.

The original plans for the show were to begin taping around June but a few months later it still hasn’t happened.

According to Meltzer, there are still things WWE needs to work out. The UK Championship tournament was apparently a big money loser for the WWE.

Looks like plans haven’t been completely scrapped for the show. We will have to wait and see what happens over the next few months.
