News broke after NXT Takeover: Brooklyn III that Asuka had suffered a broken collarbone during her match against Ember Moon. There had been a lot speculated about Asuka’s future and if she would be keeping the title.
It turns out that she will not be. At the August 24th NXT tapings, Asuka vacated the NXT Women’s Championship to General Manager: William Regal.
This will officially end her historic title reign (when the episode airs according to WWE).
