  1. My favorite Summerslam would have to be my 1st one I saw (1st one for WWE for that matter) when I was 7 years old. Seeing Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage team up as the Mega Powers was so awesome for me. Andre and Ted DiBiase were the baddest of bad at the time. And then with Miss Elizabeth distracting DiBiase, who will ever forget that…Plus it’s where The Honky Tonk Man finally lost his I-C Title to the Ultimate Warrior in extremely quick fashion.

  3. The one SummerSlam that stands out to me and is easily my favorite is SummerSlam 2002. Like the card was just stacked, and the matches for the most part were good and told great stories during and after the matches took place. Everything for the most part was a hit that night. From Angle vs Mysterio, RVD vs Benoit for the IC Championship, to Edge vs Eddie, the undercard was just a work of art, and the undercard delivered. Then came the 2 Main Events (In my opinion) HHH vs HBK and Brock vs Rock. These matches were hyped to the moon and rightfully so because both of these delivered, while telling great stories before, during, and after the matches. And all while the crowd was involved, with nonstop energy and in a way, making the matches better. The night from top to bottom ( with a match or 2 not being perfect) was stacked and lived up to the hyped that was presented to the audience. This is easily my favorite SummerSlam.

  7. Oh man, I really like Summerslam 2000 and 2002. Both cards were stacked, but if I had to choose one, I remember 2002 a bit more, because it was the same year a graduated high school. Lol.

The first TLC match was an epic car crash that will go down in history as one of the best spotfest matches EVER…Shane O’s big dive from the tron…JR smashing glass over Tazz’s head…the triple threat with Rock, Trips, and Angle…it was an awesome show!

  9. Summerslam 2011 hands down because it was at the start of my interest in wrestling. At the time I didn’t realize how monumental the Cena V. Punk rivalry would be and just goes to show why Punk sadly left years later. What I was not happy with though, was the decision to have obnoxious Del Riiiiiiiiio cash in and win afterwards.

  12. Summerslam 2004 – I don’t remember much from 2004, but the one match I remember clearly is Orton vs Benoit. Orton was, and still is, one of top 5 favourites of all time. It’s my favourite because I still remember my 5 year old self jumping up and down at like 4am (in the UK) at the sight of Orton winning is first world championship and the way I felt, the memory it gave me, is what makes Summerslam 2004 my favourite Summerslam of all time

  13. My favorite SummerSlam was Summerslam 2011 because The Randy Orton vs Christian Match was amazing . That match is in my top 10’s. I really enjoyed that match mostly when Randy Orton hit him with an RKO outta nowhere. Right when Christian was going for a move off the top rope but got caught with an RKO outta nowhere. Also Because the match between John Cena and Cm Punk for the Undisputed WWE Championship god that match was awesome although Cena had his foot on the rope it was still great to see Cm Punk hold the big one at the biggest PPV of the Summer.

  14. I’m in agreement with those who said Summerslam 2000. That tag match with The Hardy Boyz, Edge and Christian and The Dudley Boyz was awesome and the main event was great because my boy The Rock won the title while the feud between Angle and HHH over Stephanie intensified. I loved everything about that ppv.

  15. My favorite summerslam is 2013 because I loved the lead up to both Bryan vs Cena and Punk vs Lesnar. I also thought Christian vs Del Rio was really good.

  16. Triple H vs Shawn Michaels Summerslam 2002, one of the most intense rivalries out there. Felt like they actually hated each other.

  17. Summerslam 2013 simply because of Cena vs Bryan. We all thought Bryan finally reached the tip but then the cash-in by Orton. Helped prolong that story and made Bryan’s coronation at Wrestlemania that much sweeter.

  18. My favourite Summerslam is 2013. It had 3 really good to amazing matches that made the show fantastic. First, was the opener, Christian vs Alberto del rio for the world heavyweight championship. It was a fun match. Then, we had CM Punk vs Brock Lesnar. It was phenomal and match of the night arguably match of the year. Finally, the main event, Daniel Bryan vs John Cena for the WWE championship. A great main event that ended the show. To top it off it had a shocking ending when HHH turned on Daniel allowing Randy Orton to cash in his money in the bank contract to become WWE champion.

  19. My favorite Summerslam moment would have to be the ’94 brother vs brother cage match with Owen and Bret. Granted, I wasn’t alive for it, but the drama involved in the match has made it one of my absolute favorites of all time, and I can safely say it’s one of few matches I’ve probably seen at least ten times over the years.

Brock vs Cena(WWE World Heavyweight Championship): Who would’ve thought that Cena would take a beating like that. Brock showed who owned Cena that night. I would say this was the shock of the night. In the first 30 seconds of the match, Lesnar executed an F5 on Cena for a near-fall. After, the match was a one-sided beatdown, with Cena managing only brief and ineffectual offense while Lesnar executed multiple German Suplexes (16 in total) on him. Cena executed an Attitude Adjustment for a near-fall. Lesnar then proceeded to sit up (mimicking The Undertaker) and laugh. Cena applied the STF on Lesnar but Lesnar escaped and executed a second F-5 to win the title.
Roman Reigns vs Randy: this was an underrated match on the card…I don’t think people give Roman enough credit but him and Randy worked well together. I felt with the the near falls and counters of each move added to the match showed that Roman was ready to be a Main Event player. After back-and-forth action, Reigns executed a Superman Punch and attempted a Spear but Orton countered with a Snap Scoop Powerslam for a near-fall. Reigns attempted a Leaping Clothesline but Orton countered with an RKO for a near fall. Orton attempted a Punt Kick but Reigns countered and executed a Spear to win the match.
Rollins vs Dean (Lumberjack match): Both wrestlers brought out the best in each other in this match. With fighting in the stands and also, fighting the lumberjacks. Nothing was going to stop them for killing each other and that was the perfect match for them to have as a blow off feud. After both men fought in the arena stands and assaulted the lumberjacks at ringside, Kane came out to try and restore order. Ambrose executed a Curb Stomp on Rollins but Kane interfered and broke up the pinfall, starting a brawl involving all the lumberjacks. Rollins hit a distracted Ambrose with the Money in the Bank briefcase to win the match.
Jericho vs Bray: Bray an underrated worker….showed the world that he can beat the rock-star all on his own, Jericho taking Sister Abgial on the barricade was nasty looking. Bray countering the code-breaker. Bray beating Jericho without Harper and Rowen
Stephnaie vs Bri: Even though this match was lack luster. But everybody wanted to see Stephanie get her but kicked, She came out in her Chyna gear looking like a boss. Midway through the match, Triple H appeared, followed by Nikki Bella. Triple H pulled the referee out of the ring as Brie applied the Yes! Lock, leading to Brie performing a baseball slide on him. Nikki then entered the ring, seemingly to prevent Stephanie from escaping, but instead attacked her sister, turning heel. Stephanie then executed a Pedigree on Brie to win the match.
Miz vs Ziggler( IC Title Championship Match): Hot opener. Miz done well with IC title. Him and Ziggler brought prestige to the title by making it important and the title that everyone wants to have around them. The ending saw Miz executed a Skull Crushing Finale on Ziggler for a near-fall. Ziggler executed a Zig Zag on Miz to win the title.
AJ Lee vs Paige (Divas Championship Match): 2-females who brought the weirdest segments to Raw but entertaining. This match was overshadowed by the other woman’s match but it showed how much Lee and Paige wanted to make the Divas Title important. The match ended when AJ applied the Black Widow on Paige, who countered the into a RamPaige to win the title.
Rusev vs Swagger (Flag Match): Rusev attempted to attack Swagger before the match but Swagger countered into the Patriot Lock, thus weakening Rusev’s ankle. In the end, Swagger passed out to the Accolade, meaning Rusev won by technical submission. Following the match, Rusev assaulted Zeb Colter while he was tending to the fallen Swagger and the National Anthem of Russia was played for Rusev.
Overall: Even tho this Summerslam had some uninteresting matches…it was still one of the best bcoz the main event saw John Cena getting murdered by Brock Lensar in 30sec

  23. Summerslam 2002 by far for me. Great card top to bottom, Mysterio-Angle, Guerrero-Edge , the Tag Title Match and Benoit RVD are all very fun undercard matches. Michaels vs HHH is one of the most emotional spectacles WWE have ever put on and is a tremendous match while Lesnar/Rock was the standard for true “passing of the torch matches” until Bryan vs. Cena in 2013. One of WWEs best ever top to bottom shows, not a bad match on the card and a smartly booked show with arguably WWE’s best ever roster
