Brock Lesnar will defend his WWE Universal Championship against Braun Strowman, Roman Reigns and Samoa Joe at Summerslam. Paul Heyman added some extra stakes to the match on RAW this week, saying that if Brock loses the title, he is leaving WWE.
So is Brock Lesnar really leaving WWE after Summerslam? We have a potential spoiler for you (you have been warned).
Brock is still being advertised by WWE to appear at some events after Summerslam. This includes a few episodes of RAW and the No Mercy Pay-Per-View. Here are the events that Brock is still advertised for:
- Monday Night Raw on August 28th
- Monday Night Raw on September 11th
- No Mercy Pay-Per-View on September 24th
- Live event on September 30th
What this tells us is that Brock is likely not leaving WWE (and maybe not even losing his title). There have been rumors for the past week or so that Lesnar could return to UFC to fight Jon Jones. Lesnar is still suspended and won’t be eligible to fight for a few months still.
WWE could always pull his name off the advertisements for these events but seems odd that they haven’t done so already if the plan is for him to leave WWE for a while. Lesnar’s contract with WWE also doesn’t expire until after Wrestlemania 34 next year.
This is a rumor and should be taken with a grain of salt as always. Some interesting food for thought and could indicate Lesnar isn’t losing his title after-all. This might have just been WWE’s way to play off the Lesnar-Jones hype. We will have to wait and see.
