I’m going to play Devil’s Advocate here: If Nakamura gets the title shot, what are they going to do with Cena?

No, they can’t , but I’m not seeing how putting him in a rehash of last year benefits anyone either. Why not have Nak lose, go for the US and have Cena put Mahal over?
It would just be the same storyline when he feuded with Randy USA vs India and just the same old tired promos
Cena’s going to do the same promo/storyline anyway. Have Cena NOT beat Nak clean, freesNak to go for US against Styles, and Cena putting Mahal over will free him up to go to RAW after SummerSlam.

They’re not going to do that two weeks before SummerSlam, he’d have nothing to do there either.
Roman Finn Samoa Joe and Strowman I say he has a lot to do there
But they’ve all got storylines going. He’d have no one to work with until after SummerSlam.
That’s the plan for him to move to RAW after Summerslam
But how do we get there? I don’t see any point in rehashing Cena/Styles again but there’s nothing really going for US or WWE Title right now.
We find out tonight for the WWE Title
This is the WWE. They’d damn well do it and give him a new story line too.
They’ll do it after SummerSlam, not before.

The problem with SDL right now is too many like characters… Too many underdogs… Sami/Dillinger/Gable…. Too many foreign gimmicks… Rusev/Mahal/Owens…..
Fair point. But I think that they are doing a relatively decent job managing them all.

then of course the WWE title match.
IDK, this card is not feeling like a major PPV card. This feels like two weeks of SD or a B PPV card. Nothing’s jumping out as really a special match.

Who ya got? If we are going pure storyline it has to be John Cena. If its based on who’s getting the stronger push right now it has to be Nakamura. If we are going with WWE logic it has to be a double pin.
I want Nakamura but I could see them making it a triple threat for the title at Summerslam so they can preserve the dream match for a future ppv
