You might be familiar with WWE’s old Pay-Per-View concept: ‘Taboo Tuesday’. The idea was that fans were able to vote on stipulations for the matches, giving the event an interactive feel.
The first ‘Taboo Tuesday’ event ran in 2004. WWE also featured a Pay-Per-View of the same name in 2005. It was eventually replaced in 2006 by ‘Cyber Sunday’ that ran for a couple of years.
Could the event be returning to WWE in 2017/2018?
A document has been floating around online that suggests WWE has re-applied for the trademark for ‘Taboo Tuesday’ on July 24th. (h/t HeelbyNature)
Smackdown Live is on Tuesday night’s so it might not be coming back as a full Pay-Per-View. We could see a future episode of Smackdown Live branded as ‘Taboo Tuesday’. This could be similar to what we saw with the ‘Wild Card Finals’ episode of Smackdown last year. We will have to wait and see.
