1) We Have A New United States Champion (Just In Case You Missed Wrestling News This Week)
This week’s episode of Smackdown Live was kicked off with a video package that showed AJ Styles winning the United States Title from Kevin Owens. This happened at the WWE’s live event in Madison Square Garden this weekend.
If you stayed off social media (or our website) this weekend, you might have missed it. AJ opened the show with his new title:

Title looks good on him!
2) AJ Styles Is Bringing Back The U.S Title Open Challenges!
AJ spoke this week about his desire to elevate his newly won WWE United States Championship. He announced that he will be bringing back the U.S Title open challenges.
AJ says that he wants to defend his title on a weekly basis, similarly to what Cena did a few years ago.
#USChampion @AJStylesOrg has just announced his own #USOpenChallenge, and someone has answered…. it’s JOHNNNN CENA! @JohnCena #SDLive pic.twitter.com/48zmxpkmtH

If WWE goes forward with this, it could be a lot of fun. AJ wrestling and elevating younger talent on a weekly basis could be amazing. Last week’s match with Chad Gable proved how great it can be.
