WWE News: Backstage Details On The Usos ‘R-Rated’ Line About Xavier Woods During The Rap Battle

HipHopDX.com recently interviewed rapper: Mega Ran. For those wondering, he was a part of the rap battle on Smackdown Live between the Usos and the New Day. Mega Ran was inside of the ring during the rap battle in the corner of the New Day.

He is also close friends with New Day member: Xavier Woods.  He shared some details during the interview about how the rap battle came to be and shared some interesting backstage information. This included info on the controversial line from the Usos about Xavier Woods.

For those that missed it, the Usos said:  “Big E lets keep it PG, you know what’s good. Just don’t get all Rated-R like your boy Xavier Woods”. This comment was in reference to a leaked video of Paige from earlier this year that featured Woods.

Mega Ran said during the interview that the Usos did NOT let the New Day know about their rhymes beforehand. They spoke with a single WWE producer about what they were going to say. In contrast, the New Day had all of their lines approved. Here is what he said about the ‘R-rated’ line about Woods:

“[The Usos] were able to write rebuttal lines. I felt it gave them an advantage. They might’ve gotten a little better crowd response, but they went a little below the belt to get it.”

He also mentions that the backstage producers were overjoyed with how the segment went after it was all said and done.
